At work (the Rockford Public Library), although its almost silent, not even the fluorescent lights were buzzing; and it was kind of dark, rather eerie. Im in the 800s ( in the Dewey Decimal System, the 800s are the poetry and literature books) and someone wrapped in layers of clothing runs towards me and starts grabbing me all over. I hit him or kick him and he bolts. Before he is gone, however, he throws a comic book at me. It has a black cover with a grimacing face in the center. The title of the book is BATCH, which is written in thick yellow lettering. The face is rather crudely drawn. I think there may have actually been more than one comic, but Im not sure anymore. I put the comics in my locker in the page station and go back to shelving books, although I am rather shaken. I keep working, but Im hearing noises now and I am really jumpy. I go down the stairs to the second floor reference desk to sign out and go home, but I find a pile of purple photocopied(the high school handout variety) articles on BATCH and its creator, the guy who grabbed me. "This fucker tried to molest me or something! We gotta find him! Hes still in the building!" Donna the maintenance woman helps me out and I see him constantly but he keeps eluding us. Finally Donna starts to lead me through the secret employee stairwells. I figure that this way we will be able to sneak up on him and nab him. I look down below me (the stairs are the kind made out of the strips of metal with all of the little holes in it so you can see through it mostly) and see him scurrying down the stairs where I had just been. I start flinging books at his head, but all of them miss their mark. He is really flying down all of these stairs. I must have just given up because I just follow Donna through all of these crazy secret tunnels and hidden offices. Finally, she leads me up to a dark, rather imposing door. "Well, Jas, this is the last one. I cant take you no farther." "Thanks, Donna," I say and step through the door. There is a party going on and its for me. I know there are lots of people there by the noise level and all of the food, but all I can see directly in front of me is flying confetti and impossibly large tables piled high with paper hats.
